Red Raincoat

We are LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY from closing on our house!! Tucker & I are so freaking excited; can’t even contain it. After closing, we have about a week and a half to do the construction we’re planning before our floor guy comes in – we’re planning to move a couple minor walls to build a master closet, and then we’re taking up the carpet and getting the hardwoods refinished. So next week is going to be BUSY. After the floors are done, we have less than a week to actually move out of our apartment into our new home before I leave for the CRUISE. Man, what a great month.

I actually love moving… which is good, because I seem to do it a lot. I find going through everything, purging, and cleaning out very therapeutic. I love finding everything the right place in the new home and decorating is OK too I guess 😉 If you have any moving tips or decorating advice, leave a comment, I’d love to hear ’em!

Tucker & I spent Sunday cleaning out our closets in preparation for the move and SPRING. We actually had a huge snow storm this past weekend in MN, but I’m sure spring will come… sometime… Anyways, in honor of the coming warm weather and lots of rain, I’m pulling out my red raincoat!

This red raincoat is such a great statement piece. Red is so versatile, and this jacket in particular is great quality. I wear this to work or casually, and it looks really cute with my rain boots. It’s thick enough to wear as just an outer layer, like a trench coat, when its still kind of chilly. I’m wearing this on top of a super casual outfit, just jeans and a sweater.

Purchasing these kinds of statement yet versatile pieces is a great way to expand your wardrobe. This simple sweater I have in a few colors and can be thrown on with anything to jazz it up – like this jacket!

The last thing I want to mention is these AWESOME sunglasses. Yes, I felt dumb wearing them inside, so there’s only one photo of them, but they’re SO CUTE. I’m so excited to wear these on my cruise. They are actually PRESCRIPTION from Warby Parker. Can I get a hell yeah from my glasses wearing ladies?! I do have contacts, but wear glasses most of the time, so having prescription sunglasses is such a GAME CHANGER. Stylish? Check. Being able to see at the same time? CHECK!
