This post is part one in a two-part series about a staple item in my wardrobe, the white and navy striped top. (For the second part, click here) This classic piece is so versatile and can be worn for any season or occasion. In this series, I will be styling a basic turtleneck for business wear. This one in particular, I picked up at Old Navy many years ago – it’s still going strong.
My first look is a very preppy work style. Paired with a contrasting bright orange blazer, the navy stripes become a background for the pop of color. I am wearing it with my go to work slacks, the Ann Taylor “Kate” fit, in navy and my favorite Coach navy heels. This blazer was one of the first “business” clothing items I ever bought (go
big bright or go home, right?), which I purchased my Sophomore year of college for an internship. Okay, TBH, my mom bought the blazer for me. Anyways, it’s something I bring out when I want a fun pop of color every so often. It makes me feel really confident, so I like to wear it on high stress days. I’ve topped off this outfit with a simple brown letter carrier purse and pearl earrings for a classic look with fun color.
