I spent last weekend in Nantucket on a retreat with my program cohort. It was the most ridiculous, over the top, incredible weekend! The amount of wealth on this island is crazy. We stayed at one of the people in our classes house… yep, a house that could hold 25 of us. It was nuts. But it was so wonderful! We spent the weekend exploring the island, sitting in the hot tub, eating tons of food, and watching the ocean.
There were tons of cute houses and shops to visit in Nantucket. All the buildings are shingled in cedar, so they turn this classic grey color after a winter. Apparently this tradition is so that the houses don’t take away from the island, letting the nature and ocean really shine. Everything is so quaint – and so preppy. If there is ever a place to wear all Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines, Nantucket is the place to do it!
I’m glad to I got to spend some time with my cohort before the business classes begin. Orientation starts tomorrow, and I’ve had a few interactions with business students… I’m feeling good that I was able to find some of “my people” in the engineering class.
